My Trip to India: Kashmir – Gulmarg / Srinagar

Our plan for the second day were divided into 2 parts, morning and afternoon. The morning plan was to go skiing in Gulmarg ski resort and ride the highest Gondola on Planet Earth beside fulfilling our eyes with the amazing landscapes all the way to Gulmarg and back. The afternoon plan was to complete discovering Srinagar.
Actually we were kind of lucky, it is not a ski season but because they had a very strong storm a week before we reach, the snow was there. So we had the best of 2 seasons, we did ski in the middle of their spring, thank God. Gulmarg is one of the 2011 top 5 ski resorts in asia, CNN. I did practice skiing there for the first time in my life. It was kind of hard, you need strong legs for that. The weather was sunny with some clouds here and there. Skiing = SUN GLASSES + SUN PROTECTION, Don’t you ever forget this equation. The Gondola was fun, specially it is the highest in the world. Gulmarg was definitely worth it. One bad thing, the beryani i had on the way back to Srinagar was not good. Kashmir people are famous for their beryani !!
When we returned to Srinagar we visited the Jama Masjid and couple of Mughal Gardens. Mughal gardens are a group of gardens built by the Mughals in the Islamic style of architecture. 400+ years gardens built by the Mughal Emperors. Gardens with pools, fountains and channels. Ice melt and run down to the lake, the Mughals made channels and directed it to their fabulous gardens. I can only imagine how beautiful was Srinagar 400 years ago and how was the life back then. The only thing that crosses my mind now is One Thousand & One Nights. That was for the second day.
Oh ! I forgot, The highest Golf Course in the world is in Gulmarg too. I couldn’t play BECAUSE OF THE SNOW !!
Kidding, Am Still Young For Golf.
