Tenerife island , Biggest island in Canary by size, was our third and last destination. I wanted to try the ferries just for the experience. Knowing that it’s 4 hours buy ferry and half an hour by plane, we choose the plane. It was the craziest flying experience EVER. I read one third of the Quran 3 times in this half n hour. My partner is a pilot, and i kept asking him is this fine? is it normal? does he know what he is doing? and he was laughing untill we landed SAFELY, THANK GOD. It turned out the pilot was using his own skills all the way with no autopilot no machines nothing.
We spent our first day discovering the area around, which is a very beautiful sea front and beaches with trendy cafes and restaurants. The weather was just amazing with a blue sky. We had a very long walk, Lunch and moroccan tea. The sister of the waitress who is working in the moroccan restaurant works for Kuwait Airways ..!! what a coincidence !!
The second day, we went to the capital , Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which has a very nice historical city centre. Then we visited San Cristobal de la Laguna ,UNESCO world site heritage, It was an amazing old town which is half an hour in a bus from Santa Cruz. Old Colorful Building with very high walls and wide roads comparable with an old city roads. San Cristóbal was founded in 1497 and it was the first non-fortified Spanish colonial town.
In our third day in the island, we decided to take a private tour to cover more sites as we’re leaving the day after. We started with the second UNESCO world site heritage which is Teide National Park. Teide-Pico Viejo stratovolcano is 3,718 m high and the highest peak in Spain. The color of the nature is strangely amazing, for a while you would think it’s more of a painting than a natural scene. It was very cold up there and there was an hour trek tour to the top of the volcano and we were not ready for both of them. We passed by some old villages and towns with Fascinating sceneries all the way.
Our Last day was fully occupied although our flight was at 6 pm. Since the hotel had alot to offer and we did not have the time to enjoy it, we decided to relax and tan by the pool. At 1 pm we went paragliding. It was my first time doing such a thing, i thought of calling it off and why i am doing this, but listening to a 6 years old girl talking about how exciting it is made me … aah just do it :D. By 3 pm we were back at the hotel but there was one last thing we wanted to do. We ran barefoot to the beach which is 5 minute away jogging to enjoy the high waves , splash splash !! By 6 pm we were in the plane heading back to London.
