I always hear of Canary islands. But i have never thought that i would visit it this early. It was not on my list but After we agreed on visiting Madeira, we were looking to other close by destinations with a good weather (in November). When we looked on the map we found nothing is closer to madeira Island than Canary Islands. An hour flight destination with a perfect climate all year long and a good touristic reputation, we were not asking for more.
In our 4 days stay in Gran Canarya Island, we did a combination of nature, culture and beach activities. We went on regular tours with small groups to different national parks. They stop by some amazing view points for few minutes where you can take some nice pictures and have a cup of tea. Culturally, we had injoyed Las Palmas historic centre, with narrow streets, Old buildings, shops and fountains. We stayed in a hotel in Maspalomas in front of the Maspalomas great Lighthouse and only a walking distance from the sand dunes beach (Playa de Ingles) .
Night walking by sea front area is priceless. Long long walk paths made at the edges of the rocky mountains connecting beaches together. These paths are kilometers long and have some cafes here and there. Other nice beaches are Puerto Rico beach and Puerto de Mogan. Puerto de Mogan has more to offer than just a beach. It has a very nice sea walk, restaurants and cafes. With a very intimate, special and different atmosphere. Restaurants are small houses laid just in front of the marina and only candels were used for lightening tables. Food Smelled very nice but unfortunately we couldn’t get a table there.
